It was the Ludwig Fish Company at the Second Street Bridge during the 30's through the mid to late 50's. R.C. Ludwig ran three fishing tugs from that location and had the store and smoke house there as well

There used to be three that I remember;  Ritters, which used to have a store on W. 5th St. between franklin and washington and their fishery was on the harbor between Blocksom and the 2nd st. bridge; Ludwigs, which was by the 2nd street bridge; and Eagle, which was by the 6th st. bridge. Earl Kaeding also had a fishery a little northwest of the railroad swing bridge. Furness fisheries came along later, and were located in the old Kaeding boat docks, which was between Ritters and Ludwigs. They oipened up a store in the old Peters Dairy building on Michigan Blvd. This is probably the one you are thinking of.
